Whilst substantial progress has been made globally in autism education, autism research, autism therapies and autism early intervention. It is a known fact that not all products available to families, address the core deficits of ASD equally.

- visual aids and assistive communication devices,
- a strong and diverse therapy program,
- easy access to comprehensive therapeutic input,
- structured and personalised learning opportunities,
- a broad and varied curriculum that covers academic development as well as one that addresses the core deficits children with autism have, and
- a good skills for daily living program.
The ideal environment will furthermore be one that offers both group intervention as well as 1:1 therapy sessions because group learning encourages social communication in a natural setting. It gives the child a sense of belonging, control and purpose and offers the child the opportunity to make friends.
